The Society is always interested in gathering the recollections of people from diverse backgrounds within the Manjimup area. We interact with schools and seniors groups and engage in community events as we reach out to the community. The Society is able to assist individuals, schools and other groups with local or their family history research.
The Society has regular monthly (third Wednesday night) general meetings and a general working day each month (fourth Sunday).
Our AGM is usually held in August.
We are looking for the history of people, places and events in Appedene, Balbarrup, Boojetup, Deanmill, Diamond Tree, Dixvale, Manjimup, Middlesex, Nyamup, One Tree Bridge, Palgarup, Quininup, Shannon, Smithbrook, Tone River, Warren, Warren Bend and Yanmah.
The Manjimup Hills Historical Society (MHS) provides a range of heritage and museum services to the public, it was formed in 1964. Our aim is to involve the people of the Manjimup and surrounding areas in the preservation, documentation and interpretation of the history and culture of their area. If you are looking for the history of people, places and events that relate to this area - the MHS can help you.
We are located in the former old police station in the hamlet within the Manjimup Timber and Heritage Park. MHS maintains a static display in the hamlet buildings which represents aspects of life in the area during the 1930’s to 1940’s. Our large collection of documents, photos and artefacts are also used in regular exhibitions.
